I completely agree with the original post. Every time an issue is raised Obama cries race and MSNBC and CNN take over the show as his mouthpiece. He doesn't have to enter into any direct accusations or defense, just hint at it.
That has changed a little bit with his outragious connection to Rev Wright and his even more outragious efforts to distance himself.
I could care less that he was married in the church or his children were baptised there. That alone does not mean someone has even an inkling of the views of the pastor.
I do care about his attempts to disclaim a 20 year "close" personal and spiritual relationship with his pastor - Reverand Wright.
Obama has on several occasions said that his church has entered in to his beliefs and decisions and has guided him. He refers to Wright as an uncle, his book is titled after one of Wrights sermons and he has even said that Wright inspired it. He has frequently spoken of his close relationship to Wright - so close that he was a part of Obamas campaign.
Now he claims to have never heard any of these things that have come to light. However, there are situations that would indicate that Obama is not exactly forthcoming in his statements. For instance, a few weeks back the news reported that Obama refuses to cover his heart during the pledge of allegiance - Obama denied that, the media bought it and put out the word that this was a racial ploy by the Clinton camp to discredit Obama. Now it seems that this was specifically mentioned in Wright's sermon that blacks DO NOT have to cover their hearts during the Pledge of Allegience.
Next up is Michelles statement's that she has never felt accepted as an American - right out of Wrights playbook of Anti-American sentiments.
This is not the first time Obama has been questioned about his relationship with his associates such as Rezko or his friend and neighbor with terrorist ties, etc. etc. etc. and he just backs away and lets MSNBC and CNN take it over for him - attacking Clinton.
He flip-flops. First he says that he does not believe the Clinton campaign put out the African garb picture - then he uses it in a speech against her.
Then he says that he does not believe that Clinton put out the issue of covering his heart - then he uses it in a speech against her.
Then he says that he does not bleieve that Clinton put out the issue of his middle name - then he uses it in a speech against her.
And on all these ocassions, MSNBC and many of CNN attack clinton vehemently over and over for days.
For a man who is running on his idea that experience is bad and he is so new to Washington that he has not learned to lie and specifically on his character and his beliefs that only he can unite American - he needs to be very, very concerned about his very up close and personal relationship with Wright, a racial, Anti-American. devisive.
I can't wait to see how MSNBC and CNN will spin this to be Clinton's fault.
WAKE UP AMERICA - AT LEAST DEMAND THAT HE LET US KNOW ABOUT HIS CHARACTER SINCE THAT IS HIS BASIC CLAIM TO FAME THAT HE IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT.
It Seems to me that when Barack Obama is asked a question that embarrasses him, he just says that's not fair or he brings up the race issue. There should be no place in this campign for a race issue, I hope we have moved well beyond that issue. Barack is a good man from what I can tell, but he needs to answer honestly to all questions and not cry foul every time he gets a question he wants to ignore. He may be friends with the man that wrote the speach that Barack "barrowed". It would have been nice if Barack had given credit to the true author. There have been other issues that Obama has been allowed to skate around that I don't think other canidates would have been aloud to blow off.
It seems that you've been reading too many rumor mills/blogs. When I google "how many times has Sen. Obama played the race card", lo and behold! a ream of info that only mentions 'Clinton'-either Bill or Hillary! When I google "how many questions has Obama avoided answering directly", lo and behold! a ream of info that only mentions Hillary!
Could you please specify which issues that you perceive Sen. Obama has skated around? I ask because I found he's very frank on all the issues in his official website, and they're detailed for comparison on the website-ontheissues.org., a site that has all the candidates' stances on issues and voting records from Congress.
