Speaking of words...
It's sort of intresting that the two main parties in USA are the Deomocratic Party and the Republican Party. Most parties (not just in USA, but all around the world) have a name that tells you what they mean.
Liberal Party=Liberalism/Liberty
Conservative Party=Conservativism
Socialist Party=Socialism  etc.

Republican Party=Republic
Democratic Party=Democracy

Aren't those two the same thing?

I hate to say it, but does anyone else out there think that if Hillary wins, that the other side has Just as much hate for her as Alot of us have for george? There by this great divide we have in the counrty may continue, and once again Nothing will get done?
Time to heal folks, so much has to be done. I am very concerned about that.

No Way I could or would vote to continue georges policys, No way I will look at anybody from his party now.

just concerned, so much has to be undone of georges work, lets make sure we get someone in that can do that. Please!

One party has been labeled 'Tax and Spend' The other party Should be labeled "Barrow and Spend Even More." One party should and does work for the planet and common good. The other shows much more interest is tne "Special interest" Big Oil.

I meant take it back from the Republicans.  They are always labeling us this or that, and we spend all the time defending these rediculous accusations and outright lies.  If we can come together and come up with a unified plan for what we stand for, then we can start going on the offensive.  Don't you think it's rediculous that we have been in the midst of one of the worst, most corrupt, dumbest and myopic administrations of all time and the Democratic party is still defending its position on things?

So, you want to take back your party!

From whom do you wish to retrieve the party-Reid and Pelosi?

I can't believe you mean them.

Just exactly who would you take it from? What specific things
must happen in order for Harry and Nancy to do the job
you would like them to do?

I'd like to reply here but am having a problem getting it sent. I'll try later. This
is just another test.

How do you think the word has changed over time?

I think that over the years, the Democrats have had to defend more and more issues as the Republicans have honed in on a few myopic, self sufficing issues. That has allowed the Republicans to attach more and more varied meanings to the word "Liberal" until it has become an undefinable, mis-interpreted word that the Republicans use to fit whatever meaning they want to give it.

That's what this site and this forum are all about. It's time we stopped letting the Republicans write the rules. It's time we stopped playing defense and took back our party!

I have been a liberal for many decades.

Somehow, the meaning of words change over time.

I'm now a "conservative" by some or a "classic liberal" by others.

Our understanding others depends on understanding what
they mean by the words they use.
